First-Timers Introduction to Kayaking
Required for first-timers to use kayaking equipment. You will learn the basics of kayaking and river safety, including the 'wet exit'.
First-Timers introduction to Canoeing
Friday, August 3rd 10:30am-11:30am. Instructor: Kevin Smith.
Intended for folks interested in joining the flatwater canoe picnic but nervous about crossing the river due to limited or no experience with canoes, gear provided.
Moving Water Intro Tandem Canoe Clinic
Friday, August 3rd 11:30am-2:30pm. Instructor: Justine Wilmont. Meets at the Boat Launch.
The aim of this clinic is to teach participants how to navigate a canoe across currents. Participants must come with their own canoes, a throw bag attached to the back of the canoe, and a painter line on the front. Bow, stern, and center bag flotation and thigh straps are a bonus but NOT required. Participants must have their own PFD, helmet, water clothing, water shoes, and be signed up for Paddlefest OR an FSPC member.
